MOTORSPORT
Newbridge Motorsport race at both national and international levels.
Below are just some of the cars and race series we have been involved in over the years.

Arguably the golden age of sports car racing, in the late eighties Group C was up there in popularity with F1. And that's not surprising with 240mph+ top speeds down the Mulsanne Straight, circa 1000bhp high boost turbo engines, no noise restrictions and racing legends at the wheel such as Derek Bell and Geoff Brabham.
Group C may have been phased out in the mid nineties but it is certainly here to stay, now running in the leading historic racing series,
groupcracing.com, Newbridge offer re-builds, preparation and support for these legendary vehicles.
A race series for sports protoypes from 1966 to 1976 featuring original Group 6 vehicles and the thundering Can-Am cars. This was a ground breaking era, with the introduction of aerodynamic wings and ground effects, and the use of exotic materials. Some of the most well know marques involved included McLaren, Chaparral and Lola.

A new platform for prototype racing launched in 2011 by the HSCC. Open to 2-litre sports prototypes from the 1970s, designed to rekindle memories of the European Sports Car Championship with the likes of Toine Hezemans, taking the Chevron B19 to championship victory in 1971 and Arturo Merzario at the wheel of the Abarth Osella taking top spot a year later.
With just 140 eligible cars in known existence, this truly is an exclusive championship. Newbridge will be looking to run the Lola this season and have the capacity to run a sister car.
The HSCC is one of the most well established racing clubs around, offering everything from F5000 to 70s Road sports. Historic racing is on the rise, and with the introduction of the Martini Trophy for 2011, race entries are expected to be bigger than ever before. Newbridge has raced for many years with the HSCC supporting a number of different cars, however most memorably with the Mgb in the Guards Trophy.
Although still a force to be reckoned with on its own, the Mgb provides the ideal stepping stone towards the more potent sports prototypes – We are able to offer the car for hire to obtain the relevant competition licence upgrades whilst also gaining valuable experience driving standards.
